Mileage and Travel Claims Policy - Effective June 1, 2020

All travel clarifications to the standard mileage procedure outlined below MUST be submitted and received no later than 48 hours after the game to this link.  The ONLY way to submit mileage clarifications for games is through this link.  This policy is intended to ensure that all collected mileage funds are paid out to eligible officials.
 
If travel clarifications have not been submitted and received within 48 hours after the game has been completed to this link, then the mileage portion of the total payment will be split among the eligible officials.  Effective June 1, 2020 the ORA will implement mileage claims based on the parameters outlined below (illustrations based on 2019/20 rates):
 
  1. The maximum mileage charge will be divided between eligible officials.  Any additional travel charges will be paid in full to the eligible officials.  Examples below:
 
  1. Game is in Claresholm, 2-man system both officials from Okotoks, no travel clarifications received 48 hours after the game (assume both officials drove)
    1. Maximum mileage available:      72
    2. Travel allowance for officials:     20/official
    3. Mileage/travel for R1:                (72/2+20) = 56
    4. Mileage/travel for R2:                (72/2+20) = 56
  2. Game in Claresholm, 2-man system, one official from Okotoks (R1), one official from High River (R2), no travel clarifications received 48 hours after the game (assume both officials drove)
    1. Maximum mileage available:      72
    2. Travel allowance for officials:     Okotoks – 20, High River – 10
    3. Mileage/travel for R1:                (72/2+20) = 56
    4. Mileage/travel for R2:                (72/2+10) = 46
  3. Game in Claresholm, 3-man system, one official from Okotoks (R1), two officials from Stavely (L1&L2), no travel clarifications received 48 hours after the game (assume all officials drove)
    1. Maximum mileage available:      72
    2. Travel allowance for officials:     Okotoks – 20, Stavely - 0
    3. Mileage/travel for R1:                (72/3+20) = 44
    4. Mileage/travel for L1:                 (72/3+0) = 24
    5. Mileage/travel for L2:                 (72/3+0) = 24
  4. Game in Nanton, 3-man system, one official from Okotoks (R1), two officials from Stavely (L1&L2), no travel clarifications received 48 hours after the game (assume all officials drove)
    1. Maximum mileage available:      40
    2. Travel allowance for officials:     Okotoks – 20, Stavely - 0
    3. Mileage/travel for R1:                (40/3+20) = 33.33
    4. Mileage/travel for L1:                 (40/3+0) = 13.33
    5. Mileage/travel for L2:                 (40/3+0) = 13.33
  5. Game in Nanton, 3-man system, one official from Okotoks (R1), two officials from Nanton (L1&L2), no travel clarifications received 48 hours after the game (assume all officials drove)
    1. Maximum mileage available:      40
    2. Travel allowance for officials:     Okotoks – 20, Nanton - 0
    3. Mileage/travel for R1:                (40+20) = 60
    4. Mileage/travel for L1:                 (0+0) = 0; local official not eligible for mileage
    5. Mileage/travel for L2:                 (0+0) = 0; local official not eligible for mileage
  6. Game in Nanton, 3-man system, two officials from Okotoks (L1&L2), one official from Nanton (R1), no travel clarifications received 48 hours after the game (assume all officials drove)
    1. Maximum mileage available:      40
    2. Travel allowance for officials:     Okotoks – 20, Nanton - 0
    3. Mileage/travel for R1:                (0+0) = 0; local official not eligible for mileage
    4. Mileage/travel for L1:                 (40/2+20) = 40
    5. Mileage/travel for L2:                 (40/2+20) = 40
 
  1. The above will be applied automatically in all cases unless travel clarifications are submitted and received no later than 48 hours after the game to this link.  If there are conflicting travel clarifications received no later than 48 hours after the game has concluded for the same game, the policy outlined in section 1 will apply.
 
  1. In rare cases where multiple mileage claims are made for the same game, travel clarifications from the affected officials and authorization from the Referee-in-Chief (or assigned designate) must be submitted and received no later than 48 hours after the game to this link.  If no travel clarifications or authorization is received within the 48 hours after the game has concluded, the above policy outlined in section 1 will apply.
 
The ORA realizes that there may be scenarios and exceptions outside of the above-listed examples. For ALL clarifications for ORA assigned hockey, please submit clarifications within 48 hours after game completion to this link.
